Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of this site, subscriptions, and AI tax research assistants.

Last updated June 11, 2026

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Washington Tax Desk, including the public website, AI research assistants, subscriptions, access-request flows, client/account features, document analysis, monitoring tools, and related content.

Washington Tax Desk is a Washington State tax research and workflow aid. It is not a law firm, CPA firm, accounting firm, tax preparer, or government agency.

Acceptance of these terms

By visiting the site, creating an account, submitting a form, using an AI assistant, uploading a document, requesting access, donating, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms. If you use Washington Tax Desk on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the site or submit information through Washington Tax Desk.

What Washington Tax Desk provides

Washington Tax Desk provides public-source research tools, curated Washington tax updates, common-issue explainers, DOR and legislative monitoring, calculators, AI-assisted research tools, saved research features, document-analysis workflows, professional-help pathways, and related information.

Some features may be experimental, invite-only, paid, limited by usage caps, or still in development. Feature descriptions, examples, pricing, and availability may change as the service evolves.

No professional advice

Washington Tax Desk provides general information and research support. The website, AI assistants, summaries, calculators, citations, document analysis, monitoring feeds, and related outputs are not tax, legal, accounting, consulting, or investment advice. They do not create an attorney-client, CPA-client, tax-preparer, representative, fiduciary, or other professional-client relationship.

You are responsible for evaluating whether any information is accurate, complete, current, and applicable to your facts before relying on it. Confirm important conclusions against primary sources and with a qualified professional before taking a tax position, filing a return, amending a filing, responding to an audit, requesting a refund, entering a voluntary disclosure, or making any other business or legal decision.

AI assistants and research outputs

AI assistants, including Delphi, Solomon, DOR Search, and other research tools, use automated systems, search, retrieval, reranking, and language models. Outputs may be incomplete, wrong, out of date, internally inconsistent, or based on sources that do not resolve your specific facts.

Citations, linked sources, and quoted material are research aids rather than guarantees. You remain responsible for checking source text, effective dates, agency guidance, and current law. Do not treat an AI answer as an authoritative determination by Washington Tax Desk, the Washington Department of Revenue, a court, or any professional advisor.

Do not submit confidential, privileged, sensitive, or personally identifying information to public research tools unless you are using an engaged client or account workflow and understand how that feature is intended to handle the information. Our Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, processed, stored, and shared with service providers.

Accounts and access

Account and client features may require approval, invitation, authentication, accurate contact information, and compliance with these terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account.

We may limit, suspend, or revoke access when needed to protect the service, enforce these terms, comply with law, prevent abuse, investigate security concerns, or manage invite-only or paid access.

Subscriptions and Pro access

WTD Pro and any other paid subscription provide access to research tools and information, such as AI assistants, search, saved research, document analysis, curated updates, monitoring, and maintenance. A subscription is not payment for tax, legal, accounting, consulting, representation, return preparation, or other professional services.

Subscription pricing, billing interval, included features, usage limits, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund policy, and any trial or promotional terms will be disclosed in the checkout, invoice, access confirmation, or account flow that applies to the subscription. By starting a paid subscription, you authorize the applicable charges under the terms presented at the time of purchase.

You may cancel future subscription charges using the cancellation method provided in the applicable checkout, account, invoice, or support flow. Unless the purchase flow states otherwise or applicable law requires a different result, fees already charged are non-refundable and cancellation stops future renewal charges rather than refunding the current billing period.

Donations and payment processing

Donations support operation of the public research tools, including hosting, AI costs, search infrastructure, knowledge base maintenance, and related development. A donation does not purchase professional services, guarantee any response, create a client relationship, or entitle the donor to special treatment.

Payments and donations may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider. Payment providers handle card data, billing details, receipts, fraud controls, disputes, and their own service terms and privacy obligations. Washington Tax Desk does not store full card numbers on its own servers.

Professional help and referrals

Washington Tax Desk may help identify a type of professional or introduce you to an independent professional for matters that may need individualized advice, filings, representation, appeals, refund claims, or tax positions.

Any introduced professional is responsible for their own engagement terms, advice, conflicts, licensing, deadlines, fees, confidentiality obligations, and work product. Washington Tax Desk does not control, supervise, guarantee, or endorse the outcome of any third-party professional engagement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site, disrupt service operations, compromise security, probe or bypass access controls, scrape non-public content, evade rate limits, overload AI or retrieval systems, upload malicious code, impersonate others, violate another person's rights, submit unlawful material, or use the service for fraud, harassment, spam, unauthorized surveillance, or other harmful activity.

You may not use Washington Tax Desk to build, train, benchmark, or enrich a competing product or dataset by bulk extraction, automated harvesting, or systematic copying unless we give written permission.

User content and uploads

You are responsible for the questions, prompts, documents, files, feedback, form submissions, and other content you submit. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit that content and allow Washington Tax Desk and its service providers to process it for the requested workflow.

You retain your rights in your submitted content. You grant Washington Tax Desk a limited license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, analyze, display, and use submitted content as needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, subject to the Privacy Policy and any applicable account or client workflow.

Intellectual property

Washington Tax Desk and its licensors retain rights in the site, design, software, text, databases, workflows, source selection, summaries, branding, and other service materials, except for third-party content and user-submitted content. You may use the site and outputs for your own internal research and workflow purposes, subject to these terms.

Public government sources and third-party materials remain governed by their own rights, restrictions, and terms. You are responsible for complying with any restrictions that apply to third-party sources you access through the site.

Third-party services and links

Washington Tax Desk relies on service providers for hosting, database, authentication, storage, AI models, search, reranking, email, payment processing, and related operations. The Privacy Policy identifies current categories and examples of providers.

The site also links to third-party websites, including public agencies, source documents, professional resources, payment pages, and other external materials. Third-party services and links are governed by their own terms and policies. Washington Tax Desk is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, limit, suspend, discontinue, or remove features, content, providers, models, rate limits, pricing, or access rules at any time. The service may be unavailable or degraded because of maintenance, provider outages, model changes, database timeouts, deployment issues, security events, or other operational conditions.

We may update these terms as the site, services, subscriptions, providers, or legal requirements change. The Last updated date will be revised when these terms are changed.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Washington Tax Desk is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Washington Tax Desk will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost revenue; lost data; business interruption; tax penalties; interest; filing positions; audit results; refund denials; or professional fees arising from or related to use of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Washington Tax Desk at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe your use violates these terms, creates risk, threatens service integrity, violates law, fails payment, or is otherwise harmful to the service, users, providers, or third parties.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including provisions about no professional advice, user responsibilities, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law, and payment obligations that accrued before termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes will be in the state or federal courts located in Washington, unless applicable law requires another forum.
